It seems Discover is accepted but American Express isn't? What?

no one uses amex out side of Big corp, its just not worth it to most retails, the cost of fees and the BS is not worrh it, unless you are selling Chinese made clothes with 900% mark up

That is unfortunate. AmEx is quite widely accepted, (although not as much as Visa and MasterCard,) contrary to popular belief. The appeal to the card holder is that their customer service is absolutely the best in the business.

It is surprising that you accept Discover, as one doesn't even know where to get a Discover card.

i do understand, its just not possible for most people in our buissness, if you check with 90% of gun buissness, you will seen , none of us take amex

Yup Amex gouges any margins away from retailers on their ridiculous fees to appease their customers with good benifits. That is part of the reason even Costco got out of AMEX as well. Most places around the world will not accept AMEX unless they have through the roof margins on their products. Same applies for even retailers in the states.
