I like that idea, what about a straight 30 as well?

Is the tube on these 10 rounders the same standard 30-round tube? If yes, one could pop the base with the riser off, insert standard spring and bottom plate from a 30-rounder, done. Since the conversion can be done without tools, it is considered non-permanent, hence prohibited. Mag capacity restriction makes little sense in principle though, because if someone had real criminal intent, they would be unlikely to obey the limits and bring 12 pinned five-rounders to a gunfight anyways...

Careful, next law change they will ban all pinned magazines.

No, I mean for the HEXMAG 10/30's. If the baseplates are expoxied in place, then it's as "permanent" as a rivet.

    Problem solved.

Exactly... they hold 5 rounds not 10. It all comes down to the Magazine tube. If the tube is designed to hold more than 10 rounds it is not compliant.

This is not a valid statement, most of our 5 round mags in canada are 30 round mags that have been pinned with a rivet to hold 5.
