Look an unpinned 30 round tube is a prohibited device. There was a court ruling years ago when a guy get busted by CBSA for importing magazine "kits". They were disassembled 30 round magazines which he argued were not magazines at all but just parts. The court decided that the mag body itself IS THE MAGAZINE. These magazines can be easily disassembled leaving you with an unpinned 30 round prohibited magazine body which is the magazine according to the crown. Believe whatever you want.. it doesn't make it true. This ruling is not in the firearms act but is case law now.

Yes exactly and this wasn't done with these magazines. They were not permanently limited to the lower legal capacity so why are you saying they were legal?

Magazines were legally imported and sold by a national Canadian retailer, after import was approved by the CBSA and allegedly also the RCMP

My post 317 HERE solves any remaining legal issues with ensuring compliance with the law.
Except for trafficking in prohibited devices... which is what would happen for you to have obtained one in the first place.
