SHOT SHOW 2018: Kimber Super Jagare, Aegis Elite Pro , and KHX Custom

Kimber introduced a lot of new 1911s this year and they had quite a few of them for us to try at Industry Day.

I did not look at all the micros but in full size they had 9mm, .45. and 10mm.

I started with the Super Jagare, a 10mm beauty out of their custom shop.

I have a Glock G20 so i have shot 10mm but never out of a 1911 and i wondered how different it would be and the answer is night and day! this gun really tamed the felt recoil of the 10mm yet you could tell it was hitting those steel gongs with quite the punch. One of my favourites of the day.

Next the new Aegis Elite Pro in 9mm. This comes from the factory with a Vortex Venum red dot optic as well as unique slide serrations, Again, i had never shot a 1911 in 9mm and never one with a bobtail grip and this one had both. I guess that combination didnt work for me as i didnt shoot as well with it as the 10mm.

I will let Greentips chime in with his comments about it..

as well as of the new KHX custom with its hex shaped serrations

Kimber released more models of their K6S revolver this year including a 3" barreled models. The rep said that more models are going to be release, so it is likely that there will be one with a barrel that meets Canadian length restrictions. This is a very unique revolver. The K6S revolvers are the smallest frame six shot 357 Mag. revolvers available. Their frame is nearly as small as the S&W 5 shot J-frames. They also have the best factory trigger on a revolver I have ever felt. It's not quite at the level of a custom PPC gun, but it's closer to that than to Performance Center S&W.

I've been eyeing the DC model since moving down here as a carry gun.

Not yet, but more models are coming out. Looking at the 3" model, the gun would look fine with a 4.2" barrel.

cool...when i test fire a gun i ask myself the simple question "would i buy this" and the Super Jagare easily passes that test...as i wrote in my final thoughts, i shot 20 guns at range day and the Kimber came in third (after the HK SP5K and STI Costa)...i also shot it back to back with the new Springfield TRP in 10mm and preferred the Kimber...nice gun you got there.
