Inert round, similar to a snap cap, but instead of being designed to prevent damage to the firing pin from being dry-fired, it functions just like a live round for function testing, practice, etc.

I actually do use those for dry-firing. The new 'primer' tends to wear out faster than actual snap caps, but works for what I use them for (bringing the hammer down before storage).

So these are NOT meant for dry firing ?

While not being really meant for dry-firing, they will work for that. The biggest issue with that would be the polymer in the primer socket will wear out faster than purpose-built snap caps.
