Scotiabank purchased that Chase Canada's Credit Card portfolio last year. It's not a chase visa any longer. Mine got cancelled last year after I lost it on vacation.

Turns out it's from Chase so this contradicts what I'm reading here.

Get the fido or Rogers card. It's the best deal at the moment.

HT Visa is better. Processing time may be long, but that's ok.

Thanks for the heads up Gents. Just applied for the Home Trust now that my Amazon Visa is about to be kaput.

Yes, ditto. Applied for Home last night and already cancelled our Amazon Visa today.

I read the same advice on some forums online as well.

Some say you should cancel your card yourself vs waiting for them to do it. It might make a difference on your credit report. Not sure about that but what am I losing? It's closing anyway.

Anything to avoid paying an extra 2.5% hit on USD is a good deal.

I find it hard to believe Chase would walk away from business like that though but c'est la vie.

Seems to me that Amazon should have lined someone else up for us with the same deal.
