Sounds about right, I underestimated the number of rifles that were originally 223 Wylde.

There's also some issues with some common 5.56 rounds in .223 Wylde chambers.

Having to mortar your rifle to extract a live round (with the chance of the bullet getting stuck and pulling free) every time with some ammo isn't high on anyone's favourite activities, as it also means that you're probably getting overpressure due to zero freebore.

Some folks had no issues, others did. Myself, I sent my rifle in to have the chamber recut to 5.56.
    This ^^

I had issues and sent mine back. Overpressure and blown primers using factory 5.56 ammo with the original 223 Wylde chamber.

I'm not sure if they just re-reamed with the 'good' 223 Wylde reamer they had or if it was redone to 5.56.

Whatever they did on mine factory 5.56 runs no issue now, but my barrel is still stamped .223 WYLDE - obviously worth more as a collector if I ever sell it, rotflmao

No. It's up to you to send it back IF you are experiencing issues.

I got 2 rifles chambered in .223 Wylde and 1 was having issues so it went back to get re chambered.

The other one was perfectly fine and never had to go back.

No only some had issues, mine is one of the first 300 (223 Wylde) and runs like a top.

No - if the owners have issues then Kodiak will warranty them - there is no 'recall'. Some 223 Wylde were good, others were reamed with an out of spec reamer.

Kodiak has said in another thread on a case by case basis they would take them back and sort them out. In my case just north of you in BC it was a 1 week turn around.

1 week turn around seems to be about standard for the fix.

They do reply quickly when emailed on the matter, in 20 minutes I had a reply and RMA number.

According to the emails, they recut mine to 5.56, stamp on the barrel is still .223 Wylde as well, which is pretty much a non issue for me. Still need to take it out again for testing, but it's been busy.

It is possible to over insert metal mags on mine. That may be some people’s issue.
A fear of weapons from 80's action movies, not logic, created the disaster that is our firearms act.
