I hear you. What I'm suggesting is that this may be a warranty issue to replace the upper with the damage and/or bolt carrier on a case by case basis. It does look significant, but I haven't seen a lot - I mean like a 100 or more people posting and reporting the same issue. Then there can be mutual agreement there is a serious flaw somewhere. If there are enough cases to warrant a serious redesign, maybe they will change it and replace it for the affected customers under warranty.

Honestly, I would hold out until they work out all the kinks. Issues are to be expected on a first production, but 2000 rifles in, this needs to be addressed. Kodiak so far has had excellent customer service. I'm waiting to hear from them to decide if I keep my WK or just unload it and buy something else. I'm not putting another round through mine until I know what's next. I don't want to damage it any more.

I definitely have no problem with my threaded bolt handle model... they updated it and fixed the issue. I think If the original part was smoothed out there should be no issues. That's like the first thing I do when I get a gun is de burr/polish things like that.

Waiting for my leupold x skeleton mount to arrive so I can mount my 1.5-5x20 vx3i but mounted up a crappy barska in rings that are to low and managed to fire this group at 100yards, dialed in the correction and just fired off 50 rds at steel targets, and it seemed to be quite consistent, no weird filters ect. Definitely more than enough accuracy for the limited effective range of the .5.56

I agree completely. That’s why I’m so surprised after seeing my pictures that they are telling me it’s only cosmetic. Clearly wearing out the receiver in my case

Got to shoot my second WK180 today 60 rounds no issue same bad trigger so far for me those Kodiac rifles don't seem to have problem except the trigger.

Both are with the threaded bolt carrier.
Yep, fixed wing is great but rotary wing is ... GREAT. Life is good. JP.

I just stoned/polished the surfaces and it's now as good if not better than my old stag 10 trigger.

I will be looking to buy replacement like a Guiselle or else anyone with a suggestion for what trigger to drop in.

I put a Timney 3lb drop in trigger in one of my WK's and like it. It installed without having to mod anything to fit.

My other WK I simply polished the original trigger up and then installed a JP Enterprises reduced power trigger/hammer spring kit. It turned out quite nice. It's still not as good as a spendy trigger but it turned out MUCH better than any regular milspec trigger. A bit of time polishing and a $10.49 usd spring kit has IMHO turned out to be the best upgrade you can do yourself without dropping a bunch of cash.
