You should be looking at bringing in ammo like .30-06, .303, 7.62x54R, 8mm Mauser, etc, for cheaper rather than calibres that already have a decent supply in country.

The correct statement would be what you said, minus this lousy part..

Bringing in ammo from the US is expensive. It's not direct $$$ from US to CAD, there are import fees as well as the manpower and cost of shipping heavy lead from the US to Canada. There are minimum number of carriers that can do this in a cost effective manner.
Then people want free and $10 shipping at US prices. It's absurd.
The USA also subsidizes their mail system, resulting in lower prices. Ours earns a profit.

I worked in a receiving department for many years and can vouch for the rarity if packages being lost. I have never actually had a Canada post package ever lost. DHL is the only company that is a significant problem and because they now have an association with Canpar Canpar may be an issue too going forward. With that said the Canpar stuff eventually shows up.

You either spend a lot of time at a gun range or you're fencing guns to the gangs in Vancouver like that guy in moerbly lake years ago! I sold the guy a damn shotgun and it ended up in the hands of gangs
Are you allowed to eat doughnuts private Pyle?
