I realize that this is a restricted firearm.
Just out of curiosity; Does anyone know exactly why these are restricted?

Is it considered an AR-15 variant? Is it considered a handgun?
Or is it simply a rifle that's only restricted due to barrel length?

It is considered an AR-15 variant. It is compatible with standard AR-15 uppers and most other parts (actually, almost every AR part except the magazine). It would therefore still be restricted even with a 18.6" barrel.

When will you get the model with last round bolt hold open?

Anyone buy one of these? I've read that they use Glock Pistol Mags, I'm assuming that's not a Glock mag pictured (I haven't seen a clear one before).

Any sale on Glock mags to accompany this firearm?

I'm assuming this is competing with the likes the of CZ Scorpion EVO, but that one comes with iron sights... the 10rd Pistol mag for the PSA seems like a huge advantage to me though, both firearms being restricted.

Yes. It runs on Glock mags.

The clear magazine included is an aftermarket Glock mag, made by Elite Tactical Systems.

Both the rifle and the magazines get very good reviews on youtube.

I have one with a keymod forend and 10 1/2" barrel which I think gives a little better accuracy. Absolutely love it. Not a single FTF or FTE after several hundred rounds and that's with cast round nose lead bullets. I put in a Timney 3 1/2 pound trigger, added an Ergo F93 stock and an EoTech 512 and it's a great package.

    Only two minor down sides:
    1. no bolt hold open on the last shot which really doesn't bother me
    2. even with fairly light handloads (125 gr. bullet over 3.3 gr. of AA#2) it chucked the empties about 8-10 feet. I have no idea how far it would throw factory rounds but you might need a car to retrieve them. I dropped the load to 3.1 gr. and the empties now go about 6 feet which is about perfect. No loss of accuracy either. A heavier buffer or buffer spring should solve that problem if you really want to shoot hotter loads. I haven't found the need.

They are a great package for the money.

These are awesome little carbines. I have the 10.5" with 12" rail and I just love it. I was affraid this would feel somewhat like a .22 because 9mm is a small round but the recoil feels very close to 5.56. It's an awesome trainer out to 100 yards, cuts ammo cost almost in half and allows you to use your Glock mags. I'd definitely buy one again. As others have said, the only downside is the lack of last round bolt hold open feature. For now, I try to mitigate this issue with a BAD lever although it won't completely fix it.
