hahaha I was going to just buy it this morning.... guess not.
Wow I got gouged, I payed 1350 for my stainless 5.56. It’s a really good rifle though, took a long time for the bolt to smooth out. Really like the iron sights, and the rifle is super accurate.
I bought one in 2012 and wound up sending it for warranty right away. Wouldn’t cycle at all. It worked if I worked the bolt slow. I bought it for bears when I was fishing. I got it back. 5 months later with a new bolt and ejector. It only cost me $50 shipping and it cost Ruger nothing. They saved a bunch on QC/QA. I could hit a pie plate at 50 yd but that was it. Before you buy check YouTube and watch people fumble with the bolt and they aren’t amateurs. I wouldn’t touch it with a 10 foot pole. Not my first bad experience with Ruger but definitely my last
My RUGER SCOUT 308 Functions Excellent ! RJ

The 284 WIN - is the Original Short Magnum !
Mine functions flawless with about 700 rounds through it, I can hit 6X6 plate at 150 yards with iron sights. I own several Rugers and The only rifle I had problems with was a 9MM carbine. Ruger payed for shipping both ways and repairs. Shout out to hot shots for that one.
True believers. Check youtube for people fumbling with the bolts. Check any long range competition that the top 10 competitors used an M77. Check the accuracy reputation of the mini 14 or the Model 1
I owned mine a month before I sold it. What a sloppy bolt, I thought something was wrong at first...
