    Cān it be had without paying for the mediocre scope they chose to put on an otherwise outstanding rifle? Just curious, as I am really turned-off by that particular brand of Chinese scope. It is completely out of place on that rifle. I would assume that others would feel the same....

    I agree with the scope comment. Howa have awesome rifles, the first one I bought had a scope package which I changed within weeks. My second one I bought the basic rifle without scope.
