The 12" hand guard will cover the gas block on the mid-length gas system 18.6" barrels. It will not cover on the rifle length gas-system barrels.

Welcome. I grew up in a city named Maple Ridge (BC not Ontario) so I like the name I'm sure I'll be doing some business with you soon.

Good to know you use Green Mountain barrel blanks. They have a excellent reputation.

I’d like to see a LIGHTWEIGHT 18.6” 6.5grendel barrel. Profile like the Faxon 20”, just a bit shorter though

This is what we are looking at but it will likely be 20"

    Thanks.
What difference would the mid length be , over the rifle length?

Mid-Length: Greater dwell time increases reliability with varying grades of ammo
Rifle Length: Longer gas system has slightly smoother recoil impulse

I only use Mid-Length gas systems on my 18.6" guns and the Rock-Solid Brake we make eliminates almost all recoil.

With that said, a fully tricked out race gun with adjustable gas block, lightweight carrier, appropriate buffer and spring, and quality brake or comp can be tuned to run with no discernible recoil or after the shot effects other than projo and gas shooting out the muzzle.

    To each their own.

Patiently awaiting roll out of the 6.5 Grendel barrels. Hoping a light weight profile in the 18.6" range will be offered.
