Why are the wait times longer for ARs? Why would it matter if it was your first AR or your second ?

More like 4 weeks (20 business days). Sold 3 pistols in Ontario and all were 28 days. One in BC... A day and a half

Bought a revolver privately. Took a month to complete the transfer. That's Ontario.

I guess I got really lucky when my Onterrible time only took a 2 weeks including the shipping.
I would tell you a funny welding joke, but all the good ones argon.

Buying a BCL102: Here you go, have a good day.
Buying an AR: These things are dangerous, wait a month and a half for yours to become less dangerous.

    Go figure...

A fellow shooter was buying his 3rd AR, and the cfo called his girlfriend to know if she was ok with it. She said she'd definitely prefer a new pair of shoes, but considering he has a vault full of guns, wtf does one more matters?

I don't know if this helps in other provinces but in BC if you get the transfer number from the seller and call it in they will usually ask you the usual questions and approve the transfer right after you call. Still have to wait for paper in the mail but calling in with the number does seem to help.
