Yes, its just called something else here, SFP40. Exact same gun just the name they use in Germany not in the States. I had the SFP9 aka the VP9 but traded it for a P30L.

Thanks. The only reason I ask is that the barrel length on the HK website has it at 4.09" which is a hair less than the 106 mm when converted. I am wondering if the SFP 40 is a slightly longer barrel

For this gun ,better buy a sfp 9. 4.4 inch barrel .

My earlier post was actually incorrect, The Germans did not make a sfp40 as far as I can tell. Only the American Market had the VP40. It would be legal if you imported it from the states though since it has a 108mm barrel. The sfp9 has In my opinion the best factory striker fired trigger on the market. You would not be dissapointed if you got one. If you are not wanting to pay the extra for importing one you could go with the P30L in 40 S&W. They are very similar with identical grips but the P30 does have better grip texturing then the SFP9.
