I'm still curious about the details of the forensics investigation. Did they recover the spent round? If they did, how is it that it took four months for the 'experts' to determine that the bullet ricocheted off of something before striking the burglar in the arm?
I'm guessing that a visual examination of the bullet wound to the arm and of the round itself would give one an immediate reasonable idea of what actually might have happened...

This case , this thread and this FundRazr campaign has been a real eye-opener for me.
TBH though, I'm however more than a little ashamed of "the community". Over two million gun owners in this country and the best that we could do (after several months) was a little over forty grand?
Of course I am now very happy for the Maurice family but let's remember that we were originally told that the trial could go on for more than a year. With only forty grand in a defense fund Eddie could have been royally, financially screwed for many years to come.

I would have thought that the contributions would have been ten times what they were. We really should have done better. If every Canadian gun owner had donated just fifty cents we could have put the Crown prosecutor on this case in jail right now...
