Can this still loaded in the chamber without a mag? I am thinking this has no elevator anymore.

If you want you can only load 1 in the chamber.

The mag tube is there only to guide the forend.

And you are right there's no more elevator, straight feed from the mag.

So it has to be dropped inside the chamber, can't just drop it quick in the ejection port without a mag as it will fall down...

That's right, there's no elevator to stop the cartridge from falling out

Unless you hold it side ways with thee chamber facing up and then push it forward

Had the chance to check-out the 590M @ their grand opening today. Was amazed how the action is butter-smooth! It's because there's no elevator sliding up/down when racking the forend!

Better not get too enthused 'bout this shotgun or the R.C.M.P. will come along and classify it restricted. Just 'cause they can!
