The short answer is Yes. It rely depends on the individual officer but if he notices your knife and is familiar with this new ruling then he or she may very well seize your knife.

It happened to me. No notice from CBSA, no reason given. Knife just never showed up. Signed the petition. Thanks Wanstalls.

I have been following this issue for quite some time now.

Doesn't matter, they will loosen the pivots and it will be prohibited. They specifically put this in the interpretation. It could even be from an old knife that is worn out so it now opens one hand. If you have been getting knives through customs it is only because they can not check every package and they are slow enough as it is.

What everyone has to realize is It is EVERY folding knife that you can open one handed. It does not matter if they are spring assisted, Canadian tire box cutter, etc. They are even prohibiting them if you can open them by holding the blade and swinging the handle away. I can do that with my Swiss Army knife! This is a very serious situation that a lot of people do not understand fully.

I encourage everyone to read the Knifenews article and donate to the Gofundme campaign if you can. The lawyer that is fighting this knows what they are doing and talking about! we can win this!

This has been posted several times in the blade forum, but more exposure is always good. Thank you Wanstalls!
