Exclamation Looking to get into long range target shooting

Ive been handloading for 25 years and set it aside for a while. Buddy challenged me to stretch my shooting out to 800 yds. Thinking of a Ruger RPR in 6.5 creedmore and a Vortex Viper PST.

    Any comments?

Howdy! Question would better served being asked in either the General Firearms Discussion forum, or the Firearms and Optics/Target & Precision Rifles forum. Greetings & Intro ain't it. You also should use something other than your email address as a user name.

That's a great package, I've been eyeing up the Tikka Tac A1 platform myself, it comes in 6.5 creedmoor and 260 Rem, I'm set up for 260 so I was going to go that route, with a Vortex Razor gen 2,
Main Rifle: 700 Mountain Rifle DM chambered in 260 Rem, Vortex Razor 2-10×40 HD LH, Timney 512 Trigger, Pillar and Glass bedded,

The RPR is a great rifle for the money I have one in 6.5 and I’m very happy with it
