I don't approve of the RCMP bulls s.hit but they at this point are making the rules and I'm not prepared to forfeit my PAL and give up my PRIVILEGE to own firearms.
I think we should have the 2nd Amendment. Why is wanting a Canadian 2nd Amendment illegitimate?

The rest though, that's not me, I don't know it all, I'm skeptical, I check facts, and I don't believe only what I wanna hear.

Same thing? Only limited to 2?
    Who makes it?

I have only seen people modify a regular 223/556 stanag pattern mag by adding that follower to it in the usa, making it a prohib if holds more than 2 rounds since it is not the original design

We did not make these rules and regulations but we will follow them without hesitation. For MGI Marck15 rifles chambered in .458Socom (FRT# 128962)

    - this is a "RESTRICTED FIREARM" as per: CC 84(1) "restricted firearm" para. (b) "restricted firearm" means (b) a firearm that (i) is not a prohibited firearm, (ii) has a barrel less than 470 mm in length, and (iii) is capable of discharging centre-fire ammunition in a semi-automatic manner, or RFR, Part 2, para. 2 2. The firearm of the design commonly known as the M-16 rifle, and any variant or modified version of it. - The Regulations Prescribing Certain Firearms and Other Weapons, Components and Parts of Weapons, Accessories, Cartridge Magazines, Ammunition and Projectiles as Prohibited, Restricted or Non-Restricted, Part 4, Paragraphs 3(1)(a)(ii) and 3(1)(a)(iii) states: 3. (1) Any cartridge magazine (a) that is capable of containing more than five cartridges of the type for which the magazine was originally designed and that is designed or manufactured for use in (ii) a semi-automatic firearm other than a semi-automatic handgun, (iii) an automatic firearm whether or not it has been altered to discharge only one projectile with one pressure of the trigger,

Therefore, any AR platform magazine for the original 5.56x45 mm NATO (223 Remington) cartridge is prohibited at any capacity exceeding five shots. - in the case of AR platform firearms chambered for 50 Beowulf calibre, the magazine is adapted from the original 5.56x45 NATO version of the magazine but the ability of the magazine to perform as originally designed has not been compromised by the adaptation. As a result, such magazines are prohibited if they contain more than five 5.56x45 mm NATO cartridges.

The magazines are in effect dual calibre magazines and are prohibited if they exceed five shots capacity of either calibre. An AR platform magazine limited to no more than five 5.56x45 mm NATO (223 Remington) cartridges, will hold no more than two 50 Beowulf cartridges. - the 458 SOCOM cartridge was designed to be used in standard M16 rifle and M4 carbine magazines. In the case of AR platform firearms chambered for 458 SOCOM calibre, conventional M16, M4 and AR-15 magazines can be used provided they contain no more than five 5.56x45 mm NATO cartridges. An AR platform magazine limited to no more than five 5.56x45 mm NATO (223 Remington) cartridges, will typically hold no more than two 458 SOCOM cartridges.

Guy who wrote that note should ask why the ccfr has not filed lawsuit against the rcmp for their interpretations and determinations contained in the frt if they are adamant about their orgs legal position....... This is after all what firearms owners join and heavily donate to said orgs for

IRG has always been a responsible dealer, what would you have them do, break the law? That way you get charged. Thanks IRG for properly interpreting our ridiculous mag laws and keeping us compliant, meanwhile where is the CCFR on this issue? This is bull####

Pretty lame that IRG gets harassment like this to the point they need to make a public statement. I also highly doubt the CCFR would have anything to do with this, the letter seems to imply that indirectly. It's also very odd the the original person would not make the complaint themselves. I happen to think mag restrictions are BS too but they are the law and the RCMP pull the strings and issue findings on any "grey" areas. I fully understand how IRG and any other business won't take any chances that would jeopardize their business and employees' livelihoods.

look at the RCMP "inspection report"

any grade school kid can print that crap off on their mac and post.

as a "legal document" it has none of the characteristics that are used in business. There are no names, no ownership, no traceability.

I don't care about the content of the note. but I care about the crap memo

I bet if you got a chance to go through the RCMPs paperwork all the other department paperwork looks nothing like this.
    The right, always trumph!

Hey so if a manufacture molds a polymer magazine, making sure that:
    1. Designed for 5 rounds Beowulf
    2. Manufactures the design only for Beowulf (Meaning the manufacture doesn't go and use the same drawing, styles and design for a 5.56 product)

Then it can be used for the 5 rounds?

    Some comment about their ruling:
The word "platform" is a useful way to blanket all magazines that fits AR. However, the law never uses this "platform" word. The law as written looks at a magazine as an object, and applies "tests" on it, such as:
    1. What cartridge is this magazine designed and manufactured for? (Easy, mold a specially designed beowulf mag, dont use it again in another 5.56 product)
    2. How many rounds of this cartridge does it hold? (5)

It doesn't talk about magazine platform or gun that can use it, at all.

You don't have to like it, as I certainly don't, but at the end of the day the law is the law. If IRG wants to maintain its profitable business in this country, obviously they have to abide by said laws. I don't understand why 1) people don't understand this and 2) people will actively lodge a complaint for complying with the law.
Further more, if you don't like the way a business chooses to run itself, go elsewhere, don't cry about it. Everyone wants rights and freedoms until it offends you, and then all of a sudden you get all socialist on us and demand that the business does as you see fit.
Christ we're almost as bad as that antifa crowd.

How about focusing your frustration for moronic Canadian gun laws on your government?

Hell, if that's how it works can you guys bring in some US Ordanance M240 bravos please? Love me some 30 call belt fed action. F**k what the law says.....
I survived the gun control scare of 2013 and all I got was this t-shirt.......
    And 30 PMags, 5000 rounds of .223, 3000 rounds of 9mm, 5 BCG's, 5 stripped lowers, and a really pissed off wife.

We need a de jure government, not the de facto government that runs the show.
The same lab already inspected and made the decision which allows them, so no there will not be another decision against them by the lab, the only way 10 round pistol mags for the AR15 pistol change to prohibited is by an act of parliament because the RCMP will never admit a decision the lab made was wrong thereby setting a precedent calling into question their capacity to classify anything.
