Cool, I've been eyeing up the leupold VX-5HD 3-15x56 as a bit of a crossover from a mid/long range scope that crosses over to a decent "light-ish" weight hunter. On paper it's not really ideal for both, but seems to be the a really good compromise between the two for the dollar, and at 22 ounces the swarovski (edit and the zeiss) seems to be the only other optic in a bit of a niche.

I was thinking about an S-TAC 2.5-17.5x56 but it weighs half a pound more, and at your price point, I might have to reconsider the leupold.
