For planning numbers: I hope/plan to do Saturday.
Andy...
Now there have been a few shooters asking me questions about obtaining their “come ups” for the distances of 100m to 600m and beyond. There are great choices out there depending on your preferred device like IOS phone or Android phone or IPad or Samsung tablet....or laptop, who knows. One thing is for sure there are a multitude of Ballistic Calculators out there.
Also the calculator depends on your search engine used: Google on a laptop, APP Store on you handheld device.
Do a search (I don’t have to teach you that part do I?) for “Ballistics Calculator “
And if you are a cheap teacher like me... add “FREE” in the search spaces
Many programs / Apps will appear. Some cost $$ like Applied Ballistics, Isnipe, and more. If you are inclined then by all means bust open the ITunes wallet and pay for it, or your credit card.
My beloved FREE app is BallisticsGL and it’s dead simple to use
Print off or hand write the settings in both MOA and MRad and include this or hand write this on a data card of some sort. Advanced shooters will do this recording on small sheet of waterproof paper (Google: Rite in The Rain) found in notebooks or pads of paper or blank sheets (like us teachers)
And now you will be armed with the / your scope settings to confirm /prove / disprove what your indexes should / would / will be.
Remember more variables come to cause deviations: temperature, wet bulb, humidity, ambient light, air density or density altitude, your shoe size, ammo temperature etc etc etc
That’s the experience you derive from driving all the way to Garrison Petawawa and shooting with me versus staying in the GTA and protesting with the Anti-Vaxxerz or the Kommunist Party down on Yonge and Dudas Streets!!
Cheers, Barney

Is it OK for those wishing to practice for the Meaford Steel challenge to bring a 'prop' to shoot over at the walk back or match?
