Stop using lead ammo... it's bad for the environment. Meanwhile they fully ban steel core ammo at ranges (Mostly already done) and boom all your restricted's are now paperweights.

Just another approach to "limiting" firearm usage in Canada , once we are all using "acceptable" alternatives to lead it will be the caustic effects of primers that will be the issue or the detrimental effects of gunpowder ... I think 3 gun should be looked at as well ... running with pointy objects has to be a concern as well , somebody could loose an eye out there ...

Yes this was sent out to Gun Clubs for input/comment . A year ago Gun Clubs were also contacted for survey input into the number of rounds fired at Clubs on an annual basis .

Where do they come up with this S#*t. Now eating wild game is going to be child abuse!

The banning of lead has little to no relation to the environment.

5200 tonnes into the environment annually? BS. I bet 5100 tonnes of it is captured in range backstops.

Given the centuries of use of lead projectiles in Canada, not to mention military bases, there must be a mountain of evidence to support the basis of your statement. Care to inform us?

Pretty sure wild meat with a little bit of lead in it is still going to be healthier for your children than horribly gmo'd meat or vegetables that's unregulated and unlabeled...just make living illegal already

I read a study where the rain water running through a military range contained levels if lead 20 times the normal amount. I'll try to find and post the article.

It is BS. Using lead at the range isn't a problem.

Lead contamination in ranges is at 10,000mg kg, lead in normal environmental settings are 300 mg kg.

Lead can take from 1000-10000 years to dissolve.
