    Civilian legal VSS Vintorez

Is there any chance of these getting and FRT?

As far as know they would legal as they are striker fired, so not an AK, specifically designed to not be FA capable, the suppressor is just for show, and it could easily have and 18.5" barrel w/a proportionate shroud.

Would love one! Even if I had to sell most of my guns, I'd buy one. Although 9x39 isn't exactly a common round

The SVD is not an AK but prohib, so are other rifles even in .22lr that are not AK's either just "look like it". It would be damn cool, but I don't think it will happen.

The article says converted to semi auto. This makes them prohib right away. This same issue was part of the reason that certain series of CZ 858 got banned a few years ago.

    Even if this could happen..
$3k USD for a 3moa rifle that is designed to be supressed, but isn't anymore?
Not to mention its unobtanium tipped projectiles.

Better ways to waste your money, in my opinion.

Yeah, 3MOA at 100 yards? That is shotgun slug accuracy.

Tons of people already spend 3k or more on 3 moa guns, also wolf produces regular FMJ ammo in 9x39 and its starting to be brought into the us. The converted to semi auto is the only issue unfortunately.

While the VSS featured in the article in question seem unlikely to get a non-prohib classification in Canada. The link at the bottom of the article to USA manufacturer Slagga Mfg seems like a better bet. They are making new 100% made in the USA VSS rifles in 300 BLK, 5.56x45, and 7.62x39. Those would be cool and I imagine they’d have much better accuracy with newly manufactured 16” barrels in those calibers.

The SVD isn't prohib because it is an AK. It is prohib because it was listed by name in the OIC as prohibited.
