That was before Pistol Caliber Carbines were popular, the PC Carbine is already getting some aftermarket, nothing major yet, but it'll only grow with time.

It wasn't that long ago .
    I had a PC4gr .
Functioned fine but heavy for a carbine .
Can't change stock as magwell & fire control is part of the Ruger stock .
Pre-orders are horrible for everyone involved. They never go smooth. We will not be doing a pre-order to bankroll this project.

Which isn't the case anymore. It's compatible with a lot of 10/22 trigger parts, and you will be able to swap the stock.

Yes, you absolutely will be able to replace the stock once aftermarket ones become available. There's literally no reason why you wouldn't be able too, it's mounted to the gun the same way it is on a 10/22, with a few hex screws, which has hundreds of aftermarket stock options.

yes but the magwell is integrated in the stock unlike the 10/22 so they are going to have to be proprietary not like a 10/22 at all

You know that the mag wells can come out, right? You can swap between Ruger mags and Glock mags. The only thing that's integrated into the stock is the mag release, and even then considering that can be reversed I think it's safe to assume it could be removed entirely, so it's really not nearly much of a stretch as you guys think for a manufacturer to make an aftermarket stock, the mag well isn't a super complicated part of the gun. They would just have to make the stock with a gutted mag well where people can drop in the magazine adapters that come with the gun, as well as the mag release. People have been making aftermarket grip modules for the Sig P320, which includes the mag well, if people can do that, it won't be much of a stretch for people to do it work the Ruger, is just a short plastic tube were talking about that needs to be added.

I am not saying it cant be done, i am only saying i am willing to bet there will not be a huge aftermarket stock option for it, definately nothing like the 10/22 as they have a larger cult following than the catholic church but have also been around as long haha
