Even the 17 hornet is a huge step up from the 17hmr. The 17 Remington was a favorite among some coyote hunters that I knew years ago. It killed them quick, and seldom exited.

My understanding as well. Itty bitty hole to patch in the hide too. I've heard more than a few like the .204 now for similar reasons.
