From the above statements, the way I understand it is 2 years full warranty from DOP and S&B will assure owners that they have parts available for 30 years. Owners pay for shipping, labor and parts once the 2 years expire?

Not really full lifetime like Vortex, Sightron, Steiner, Bushnell, etc. ?

Like i posted previously and the guy before yours said. One compant sells you a quality warranty. The other sells you a quality optic. Do s&b optics fail. Im sure in the history of time yes we can find a few examples... but you will find it to be exceedingly rare. This whole my scope #### the bed so off i go to cabelas to get my new vortex... would almost never happen with a s&b. Especially with the light use most of the people on these forums put on their optic.

S+B scopes do fail, but comparing them to vortex is not really comparable

Vortex scopes are accessible to all shooters for all rifles

    I don't know anyone that would put a S+B on a sks

So comparing a PMII to a diamonback or crossfire is just ridiculous

    - You have a 2 year warranty from DOP

    - Zenith, Klassik and Hungaria series you have a 10 year warranty from DOP, and after 3 years they will not cover wear and tear items.

    - The warranty will not be valid for damages caused by improper use.

    - The warranty void for unauthorized repair

"Within 30 years from the date of the purchase we undertake to entertain a permanent stock of the required spare parts and make sure that our service engineers have all the necessary skills and capabilities to perform the required repair work.

Within 2 years from the date of the purchase we grant a warranty with respect to the applicable statutory warranty claims of the buyer.

As far as the scopes of the Zenith, Klassik and Hungaria series are concerned, the warranty with respect to the statutory warranty claims shall be valid within 10 years from the date of the purchase, with the restriction that any jobs and repairs performed as a result of wear and tear will not be covered by this warranty from the beginning of the 3rd year from the date of the purchase.

The warranty will not be valid for damages caused by improper use.

The warranty shall become void after any intervention and repair performed by any repair service we did not authorize to perform the repair."
That is not a great warranty for "stuff" that does not break ...

Odd it's like they are selling a product not a warranty.

Euro laws are quite different as to what is permitted to be promised to the consumer with respect to warranties.
"Lifetime" is a term that, if I recall, is viewed as vague and meaningless under their laws. Fixed terms are required to be spelled out.
I have sent 40-50 yr old scopes and binos to companies such as Swaro and Zeiss, and they were fixed better than new in most cases. Sometimes for a nominal fee, many times with no charge.
I have found that certain manufacturers really do take pride in standing behind their work.
