So does Noreen: the Bad News. It's only $6k US. But I don't know if it's NR. You can get a nice 50 BMG for that price... Different application, I suppose. I think it's dumb that firearms that are entirely incompatible with a mil-spec AR15 are designated AR variants. But I digress. Back to the show: Stag's excellent and well-priced NR black rifle!

    I shot a black bear at 300 yards with a 6.5
Took it through the lungs and it ran 30 yards and started to slow. Put a follow up shot in the neck to pile it up. Probably would have only made it 20 yards more, but when they are moving downhill I don't mind stopping them asap. Every yard I have to pack them less is worth it. Was a 123sst hornady. Lungs were toast inside

    Noreen is restricted
If it's either loud, obnoxious, fast, hated by the general population or any combination of these, I OWN IT!!

What's the difference between the 6.5 22 and 24" rifles with the fab def stocks? I mean aside from 2"

I note that Fulton Armory carries 18.5 inch barrels in 308 for AR10, the barrels are made by Criterion, just like for the M14/M1A. Fulton has said many times that 18.5 is a sweet spot for 308 in their opinion.

It would be impolite of me to link here where you can find a Canadian "source". My worry is that 18.5 may be too short, and they do not post length in "mm".

My take has been to order a 20" Faxon pencil for now. It should be adequate accuracy for my needs, and it weighs very little. I know of at least 2 different means to get that barrel in Canada.

Honestly, my hope that Arms East gets Stag (Ballistic Advantage?) to expedite 18.6" barrels. BA barrels are always seen as "great value for money".
I prefer an 18.5 or 19" barrel in a semi auto .308. It's not the same platform but I have extensive experience with the .308/.762 rounds from the M14/M1A and bolt guns in 16 " to 26" barrels and I'll take those calibers in an 18.5" all day long and shoot a 150gr or 160-ish gr bullet at hunting distance of up to 300 yards on black bear/deer/moose/elk with absolute real world confidence.

for the 7-08 , same deal but maybe prefer a 19 or 20" ..... for .338 federal , again, an 18.5 or 19" barrel is about perfect, making these perfect 300 yard and under hunting rifles.
Can't wait to touch n feel and get building :D

Isn't it you get that extra bit of velocity on the 24 compared to the 22 ?

Essentially sacrificing a bit of oal for a bit of velocity but not a huge difference between the two from what I can see
