These need to be anodized first correct? aluminum is too soft, it needs a hard anodized shell to prevent dings and gouging.
Anyone else care to weigh in on this?

as some general info for the people that may have not have looked already, talking to a guy in Victoria that does cerakoting, a set can be done for about $100, so on top of the purchase price, you are into for the same price as a basic black set, but in the colour you want

Just wondering, when BCL was making these as a finished product did they anodize the receivers first, then apply the Cerakote. Or were they just simply cerakoted.

Why not jump on the bandwagon as well. Looks like it will be a good start to a long term project.

Anodizing is a must. Aluminum is too soft, you need the hard shell to paint onto or you might as well be painting lead

Actually anodize is blasted off before Cerakote is applied if it’s an anodized item.

Ordered one, and a bunch of other stuff.
Would be fine to use as is? Or is it a must to cerakote, anodize or any sort of coating?
Colour dont matter to me, i actually wanna keep it in raw Aluminum look
