Weight is 2lbs 9oz. Not as light as we had hoped but still very light for an SPR profile due to our deep cut fluting.

We are looking at a Pencil profile to get down to 2lbs and these wont be available until December.
Your website lists the weight as 2lbs 7oz for the 18.6" 308 barrels. Which one is correct? What are the differences in performance (recoil, sound/blastiness) of your Rock solid and Defiant muzzle brakes?

We have decided on 2lbs 9oz. We were going to slim down the profile slightly to drop some weight but we have decided 2lb 9oz is excellent for an SPR profile and we can simply make two types of barrels just as we have done with our 223 Wylde ones. We will be running a tapered lightweight profile next. We will be closer to either side of 2lbs for these barrels. Personally I want one of these ultra-light barrels for my STAG-10 Hunting build.

The website is displaying the correct weight of 2lbs 9oz. We will make the lightweight barrels available for order just as soon as we get more extensions. We want to have all materials on hand before taking orders.

The Rock-Solid Brake and the Defiant Brake are very close in recoil reduction and muzzle rise mitigation with the Rock-Solid performing ever so slightly better. That extra performance comes at a cost of a little more blastiness for the Rock-Solid.

    Thanks!

That's pretty light. The Faxon 20" pencil barrel is quite competitively priced though.

The Faxon barrel is a good barrel but it does not have 5R rifling, a honded and hand lapped bore, or a NiB plated extension. Our barrels have superior features and benefits compared to the Faxon barrel. These superior features come with a price.

Also, our barrels are made in Canada using premium Canadian made blanks and from the transport companies moving the materials to the heat treaters hardening the barrels, many other Canadian companies contribute to the production of our barrels. When you choose to buy a Maple Ridge Armoury barrel, you choose to support Canadian businesses and Canadian families. We appreciate your support and we are dedicated to providing you with the best possible products in return.

Will your pencil barrel require an adjustable gas block to cycle and eject properly, and will they be test fired? The faxon barrels are good, accurate and light but may very well need the gas block upgrade. Thats an extra cost. Are any Stag 10 owners of the faxon pencil barrel upgrade having cycling issues?

The goal is to have the barrel operate as reliably and efficiently as practicable with the MRA Pincer Gas Block. Once we have a definitive answer we will reply to this post.
