unfortunately, the reading will probably stop at the "naïve and stupid" comment....although may be true.....insults wont go far if you want him to take you seriously....

As far as federal goes, I also supported Maxine Bernier, but Andrew sheer is all we have now, and to withhold a vote for the conservatives because of him...would be suicide for all our legal firearms owners rights.

I would vote conservatives even if the "donkey from shrek" was the leader......its the divide and conquer tactics that are killing all our rights...and the talk about not supporting sheer and the conservatives, because you don't like the leader.....is very narrow sighted....and is feeding right into the anti gun lobby's hand...….the fact that we cannot stand together is suicide for firearm owners in Canada..

Same thing as CPC leadership. Let's figure out which candidates are rational and throw support behind them. We all know the leftists will be doing the same. Time to match firepower
SINGLE ISSUE VOTER. Vote CPC or gun bans I'd rather be judged my 12 than carried by 6.

Never ever underestimate the underdog ... trump anybody ? The Ndp can absolutely win and they have a very charasmatic leader and as far as sheer goes ? I can tell you He was a regular shooter at the Regina wild life federation - call and ask the staff if you need proof and his children went to the Regina Christian School. The Christian school thing might not mean anything to some, but it sure makes a difference to me.

Don't rule out jegmeet signg Ndp leader as having no hope of winning and don't rule out sheer as a great leader and gun advocate.
I'm sure the debates will help us all see better.

Keep up the good work brother

Always found that narrative a little hard to swallow.

How is sheer a social conservative ? What is it exactly that makes him one ? And what makes Maxime far better ?

    What's wrong with social conservatism?
1944 - 18 year old men stormed the beaches of Normandy into almost certain death.
2021 - 18 year old boys need a safe space because words hurt their feelings.
2022 - 18 year old boys aren't sure what bathroom to use.

I've been thinking lately that, the freedom any country enjoys is directly proportional to it's gun culture.
Let that sink in a bit...

We must never stop pushing back on every point or step the antis take... we must always push back.

One thing gunners miss is the word play they use...
    Are guns "good or bad"?
If you ask someone that question, you will get a good grasp on their reality by the answer they give.

As we, (or you should) all know, guns are neither good nor bad... they have no morals or thoughts of their own.
It is the possesor that determines the use and nature of the tool being used.
If you let them have that narrative, (that guns are bad) you have already lost.
Is a police officer's gun bad?

Another one, is "guns were designed to kill"...
The truth is, firearms are simply designed to shoot a projectile at high speed and with great force in a straight direction.
It would be more correct these days to say "guns were designed to defend" or "guns were designed to prevent..."
More guns these days were designed for competition or just fun on the range.
More guns everyday, do their job in silence and we never hear about it.
Guns were not designed to kill.
Don't let them have that narrative.

I fear that conservative voters will fall into disarray over the nonsense of whether Sheer is a good leader..or not...…. and what Bernier is doing right now...at this time ….seems more like a guy who is trying to divide the conservative vote..to ensure a conservative failure at the polls...…..makes me wonder if maybe he took one of the "liberal envelopes" that made liberal corruption famous in the past......as it makes no sense whatsoever to do what he is trying to do.....this close to an election.....

Truth is, we must all cast a vote for conservatives...irregardless of who the leader is....and get Trudeau out of office.....then we can work on pressuring conservative direction/leadership....after we take office...…

If we don't all come together....we will probably ensure Trudeau another term....and I think all of us in this forum know what that means ….

“It crossed my mind the other day what we can do. I think I do what I would consider the bare minimum, which is probably 100% beyond what most gun owners do, however it seems like nothing compared to say the CGN member Ottawa.

    1. Join a firearm org.
    2. Join the CPC and provincial Conservative Party.
    3. Vote in leadership races and elections.
    4. Be a responsible firearm owner, and a polite voice in the public sphere, social media, and personal conversations. Push back in those places with respect when you can. You catch more flies with honey than with salt.
    5. Try to encourage those who may be interested in the shooting hobby to get their license. Take a non shooter to the range, even once a year is better than never!”

I agree completely. I also wrote to my MP (Lib), Goodale, and the PMO.
Use simple facts to rebut misinformation; point out articles like this https://torontosun.com/news/local-ne...g-with-gun-ban
And whenever possible point out the cost to taxpayers...that’s what really sunk the LGR.
I don’t believe the NRA approach will resonate in Canada.

PS: still voting Conservative; disunity means Trudeau wins

Bob74 excellant letter and thank you for your years of service dealing with the dregs of society. One of the problems we face as firearm owners (the word gun scares people) is that of a lack of freedom. As you well know. We are not protected by the charter of rights, we only have a privealage to firearms. Sadly this gives politicians the power to do what they want when they have a majority control. However having people like you with your background speak out may help us in our "fight" not to be looked upon as hooligans and nutz.
