What kind of luck is everyone having with the 18.6 MRA barrels? Ive been hearing mixed things.
I have a MRA 4140 18.6 pencil barrel. Mine is made from a IBI blank. shoots 1.0-1.25 MOA consistently with PPU 55grain M193 bulk ammo. 0.8-0.9 MOA with BHA 77grain OTM (mk262 mod 1 ammo).
The early MRA barrel were made from Green Mountain Blanks, then MRA switched to IBI. IBI raised prices and MRA is back to Green Mountain Blanks I believe. They are CNC machined, some of the chambers I have seen were ROUGH, mine looked good, I bought it. It headspaced correctly with my bolt. Happy with it so far.
Considering some of the chambers I have seen, I wouldn't buy one without looking at it in person. But I've heard that MRA is really good about warranty if you get a dud.
