Sure looks like fun, will eventually look for mini prs around here too.

I was looking for inspiration for optics, for my ruger rpr 22 precision rifle trainer.
Will look into the athlon ares price point to see if within budget...
How does a big optic balance on a rimfire?
There are very nice Athlon options... Talos BTR at $610 is the entry point... the Argos BTR 6-24 is $720 and a really nice scope... These 2 lean on older scope specs... still very functional and will work fine.

The Ares BTR which I used is $1375...

from there you can look at the Ares ETR, Cronus BTR, Delta Strykers... all are 34mm scopes, better glass and more scope travel.

The Ares BTR has all the features you would want in a PRS type scope... very nice optics for the price point and tracking has been solid for me. From there, you are adding scope travel and better glass... and that better glass only really matters if aiming at itty bitty targets at long range. if you have the budget, these 34mm scopes are very nice.

Jerry what trigger pull weight are you running for these events?
I have not weighed my trigger but would ball park around 1 1/2lbs. In this type of game, I don't want a super light trigger.

    Thanks for this post Jerry.
A buddy and I had hoped to attend the August event in Merritt, not to compete, but just to check it out as we both would like to try CRPS. It didn't happen, due to scheduling issues, but we hope to attend the next event that is close to us.
We are both starting to practice at longer ranges in preparation. Do you have any tips for training for our first CRPS event?

Yep, happy to help.. Where abouts are you?

PM or email and I am sure we can get together for some range time.
