Hello CGN,
Just acquainting myself with you fine people.
I've been a gun nut since a kid taking apart cap guns to see how they work, played airsoft and shot airguns as a teenager, but didn't get started with firearms until my early 20's. It was always my interest in hunting that motivated me to jump through the hoops to get my first gun. My dad never took me to show me the ropes, (mostly due to giving it up once the long gun registry came in), so I've been figuring out things as I go. It's a big world in the gun world, and I'd say even more so when trying to learn to hunt without practical instruction I've also moved from Alberta, to the Yukon, and now to BC over the last 2 years; not really long enough to get resident licenses or do the required research and prep work.
I've made a couple mistakes with purchasing firearms that weren't optimal to my intended use, so my first goal on CGN is to either trade or sell what I'm not using, and acquire ones that will serve my purposes for learning and (eventually) successfully hunting much better. Range time really helps with proficiency. Just need more time learning in the bush.
I'm on CCFR on facebook and most of my YouTube/Internet time is spent on firearms and hunting channels. Now to enjoy the wider, more local community of Canadian Gun Nutz.
Cheers
