    In the field results

Took my WK180C into the field. Target is about 120 +/- yards away uphill. Expedient front rest was effective along with the recycled mat.

Rifle is unmodified factory. Scope is Bushnell AR/308. No adjustments made between groups. 10 shot groups except for the first ~ 12. Same MFT magazine used throughout. The target top half was obscured, so was rotated between groups three and four.

The first group was large at 4.2 inches. This was Remington UMC 55 grain.

Second group was better at 2.25 inches. My reloads 21.5g DA4198 with campro 55 g FMJ FC brass.

Third group was at 2.6 inches. My reloads 21.5g DA4198 with campro 55 g FMJ Winchester brass.

Forth group was at 2.5 inches. My reloads 21.5g DA4198 with campro 55 g FMJ Winchester brass.

Fifth and last group was 2.5 inches. This was Remington UMC 55 grain.

You can’t get decent groupswith this rifle shooting 10 shot groups, at least with my two WK’s. Groups start to open up after 3shotswith the light barrel

The results of the first three shots of the last group agree with your conclusions. I noted that a warm not hot barrel produced the best results.

Interesting. Definitely going to wait out for a heavy barrel then.
