Okay so in this they talk about assault rifles how ever these are prohibited in Canada so really they are misleading everyone and talking about the basic semi automatic rifles. That we use for hunting or semi automatic shotguns. Be sure you understand this before fill out the form

No they are not talking about assault rifles. They use the term assault weapon which has no legal definition and so can mean anything they want. You have fallen into the trap they want you to.

the term "assault weapon" is like the term "Muscle car". I have yet to see an agreed on definition. 90% of people just go on looks.

I just completed the survey and the line of questions around assault weapons was extremely confusing.
The definition used for assault weapons is a US definition. What it describes as a high capacity magazine have been outlawed in Canada for years.
The way the question is written inappropriate leads people to confirm agreement. Essentially you are saying is should we change a law to make something that is already illegal, illegal.
What I believe you were trying to asses was concern on semiautomatic rifles. The question posed does not address this. My concern is that you will use this incorrectly collected data to support a mandate that that differs from what the public would have answered had you asked the right question.
I suggest that all data related to the restrictions of “assault rifles” be purged from this survey due to invalid questioning
