What's the advantage of a takedown version? More compact storage?

How do these compare with the JR carbines and/or the FX9?

Takedown is definitely better carrying while hiking etc. The JR is good, just a smidge more expensive. Both are American made, both are blowback hold open, both accept ar-15 style stock
