    Stainless Scout 7.62x39mm.

In the past we have brought these rifles in. Sales were a bit slow, so once they had sold out we did not replace our supply. Currently we can get a better price on these & Savage is offering a $60.00 rebate until the end of the month. Would anyone be interested in one of these?

    $699.95 - $60 Rebate = $640.00 Savage Axis 2 7.62x39mm Scout

There is also a number of heavy Barrel Savage 308 Rifles for $499.95 - $60 rebate.

I really want to like the 7.62x39 Scout, but without a detachable magazine, I am, unfortunately, out. A 10-round DBM is really needed to finish this package off nicely, now we are just waiting on Savage to do the “right” thing...

There was all kinds of things wrong with that first one... That said I think this new one will be much more appealing to Canadians. A lot of new shooters first rifle is the mighty SKS however it's limited accuracy will often leave new shooters longing for more after they've achieved the skills to notice the SKS' limitations.

This new setup is a natural next step for someone with a partial crate or crates of ammo still sitting around and wants to hone their shooting on the cheap. I think Savage is right on the money with this one! My next rifle will be an F-Class setup so this still won't be on my radar however I wish it was around when I bought my Zastava M85. At that time it was the only bolt offering.

Savage still using a 308 bore instead of the 311 most 7.62x39 ammo is?
If it's either loud, obnoxious, fast, hated by the general population or any combination of these, I OWN IT!!

If only Savage would offer a full rail with integrated peep... it would be a wicked rifle.

from what I understand...if its stamped for 7.62x39 on the barrel...it is safe for 7.62x39 rounds. With all the lawsuits in the states...I highly doubt savage would stamp a rifle 7.62x39...that wasn't 100 percent safe for it to fire those rounds

I would definitely consider buying one of those savage stainless scouts, and will keep an eye on your site for them

The ones they use to sell had the 308 bore

    Could someone elaborate?

It does have a detachable magazine but it only hold 3 rounds and is a real POS.Hard to load and the last round usually won't feed.
