    Glock 17 Gen 4 - BBC REVIEW

Long time lurker on this forum. I usually go on this site to find great deals on firearms, accessories or ammo. I came across Blackbox Customs and was intrigue in their work. Read a bunch of reviews from other members about this company and decided to pull the trigger. So here’s my outlook and review on this company:

I bought a brand new Glock 17 Gen 4 and decided to have a little fun with it. I contacted Jay via email through his website and waited for a response. There wasn’t much else I could do to get a quote. About a week past by, Jay replies and said he is sorry for the delay in the message he was out of town at the gun show. Understandable.

He called me to confirm what I wanted and sent an estimate. After reviewing it and back and forth through emails, I finally sent the gun to him. The lead time was 4-6 weeks. After 4 weeks, I contacted Jay again to see how the progress of the project. He said it was near complete and would send me an invoice at the end of the week. I had told him I would be going to my local gun range that weekend for an event and hope to show it off to some friends. He made sure I’d receive it on a Friday before the event.

I couldn’t be much more happier on how it turned out.

The stipple work was very clean and smooth through out. The lines were very clean and the finger grooves were removed completely. It feels a lot better gripping the gun without having my fat fingers overlapping.

The milling of the gun itself was to me - perfection. I had 4 windows on each side and 3 on top. The transition of all the windows were symmetrical.

I also had the milling of the tri-top to make it look smooth through-out. I had an RMR cut out for future installation of a Trijion RMR Type 2 (Just have to convince the wife on buying it now..)

Cerakote itself was very nice. The lines and colours were very vibrant and crisp. There were no "leaks" in the cerakote and looked very professional.

These are some photos Blackbox sent to me:

The photos does not do justice in showing workmanship and quality. Also, I bought new part (the barrel and sights) - Blackbox sent the original packaging of the new parts and OEM parts back to me.

    Service 5/5
    Lead time 5/5
    Communication 5/5
    recommend: YES

Great review! I had them do an XCR for my wife and I was equally impressed with their work and customer service .

Can't see the photos due to Photobucket nonsense - but I am sure it turned out great.
