I've recently been reading into the AR platform and other carbines that allow for after market customizations. When my license finally comes, I want to dive into that aspect of firearm ownership but I have no experience or knowledge on the subject. Where do you think I should go to learn more about the various tools, parts, techniques and ways to build/customize firearms?

Find a quality book on the subject.. YouTube can be sketchy, a case of a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing. Have you seen the .50bmg in a flare gun video?
