Will an Eotech optic fit on your upper?

The WK180C is running into an issue with people trying to mount some EOTech and Aim Point Pros etc. Their mounts are contacting the upper receiver below the pic rail instead of attaching to the pic rail itself.

Do your upper receivers allow for mounting EOTech’s without any issues?

    Hey All,

Just saw this as we generally don't monitor the forums as much on the weekend.

Attached below are some pics. The first is a quick snippet of the Picatinny and Nato specs for rails. Our receiver uses the Nato spec. I have included both for anyone wanting to see the difference.

The other pictures shows some optics mounted on it.

Basically anything that should fit on a 1913 (Nato) rail should work on our receiver. This is also what lead us to using proprietary handguards, to ensure we can maintain this spec on the receiver.

I think he did. Convert the dimensions from imperial to metric, both profiles are identical, including the tolerances and the two radii that are called out in each drawing. If the OP is having fitment issues, either the optic mount is out of spec, or the rail is out of spec. He needs to get a hold of a caliper, and check the rail against the dimensions above, and then needs to get Eotech's specs for their mount. If it is not clamping on properly, one or the other (or both) would be out of tolerance.

My guess is that it is the grabber interface rather than out of tolerance parts. A Nato standard grabber will engage and datum differently than a Pic rail grabber:

Pic rail locates only on the 90 degree points, whereas the Nato standard gripper datums off of the flat top of the rail, and the two lower surfaces only of the 90 degree points. (blue area represent clamping side; red are fixed sides and surface. Both are different, both are acceptable, both are interchangable since the rail dimension is the same, regardless of the standard.

We are confident that all optics using 1913 mounts will fit our receiver. Unfortunately we did not have an Eotech to test fit. Eotech mounting is very close to the Vortex Razor in application, but if anyone local would like to stop by and try an Eotech on our receiver it would be ok with us.
