Currently using a Shadow 2 in IPSC so I am pretty used to the weight of a steel frame.
Had high hopes for the Q5 SF as my possible first foray into Striker World.
I finally had a chance to handle one today while on a business trip to the GTA, (thanks for the great welcome FOC).
Sure looked nice and the trigger felt pretty good to me.
The trigger function felt more “solid” and “crisper” than the polymer’s.
But I was surprised at how nose-heavy the thing was.
Mind you, I didn’t have a loaded mag in it but somehow I doubt that would counterbalance the drooping nose.
And, the grips were just too small.
I have hands that are just a tad larger than normal but my little finger would not fit at all!
On a positive note I have cured my angst about whether to transition from the CZ :-)

Absolutely agree with the small grip. I've handled one at my local gun shop and I am afraid that I will pinch part of my pinky if I did a quick reload. I wear large size gloves. Didn't really find the noise heavy compared to the Shadow 2 OR, but did not like the trigger one bit, Glock with a couple of small parts switched out can be much nicer than the factory trigger on Q5SF and at a much much lower cost. Actually pretty disappointed. Saved me $2k, which is great! More money for ammo!
The SF version's grip has a 1/4" larger circumference than the plastic PPQ with medium insert. Perhaps the pro model with the magwell would fit giant hands better.
I second the hope for the Pro model fitting my larger hands.
Magwells are not allowed in IPSC Production/Production Optics division. So that doesn't really help people who are most likely to buy these guns.
From IPSC.org: PPQ Q5 Match SF (Steel Frame), PPQ Q5 Match SF (Steel Frame) Champion (without detachable magwell). Champion is what Europeans call the Pro model sold in North America.
Is this gun in stock anywhere?
