    The first one is the original 1891 model made up to revolution of 1917 when Bolsheviks cancelled the contract, so that is the Remington one. Correct?

    Something to consider, beat up = story to tell OR Pristine = refurb with no more character.

    This comes up on the topic of russian capture K98s. I like the idea of the rifle having a story, or some sort of tangible connection to its history.

    Thats just me tho, others want surplus rifles that are factory new condition - kinda counter intuitive to me.
