As well, special safety glasses come with laser leveling tools that you buy at hardware stores - and those are definitely low powered.

you will be rolling the dice, there are laser restrictions in Canada as well as the states. you may get a guy whos asleep on the job, you may get the guy who opens a box marked "linen" because he expects cocaine

To be fair, those glasses are usually contrast glasses to help the low power red laser lines stand out more.

But there is a very valid safety concern about lasers. I was looking at the Wicked Lasers 2-watt blue lasers, and the reflection can cause instant and permanent eye damage... those guys came with a nice set of wavelength specific blocking safety glasses

Currently only for LE and Military sales. All high end lasers are under review at the moment both in the US and Canada. With the US Government shutdown I think this will most likely take a back seat for a while.

Is it only for the heavy laser of Class 3B/IIIb and 4/IV? What about these civilians class 3R/IIIa with a power output of 5mW or less like Holosun LS117, LS221, LS321 and other brands? Can you still import low ouput IR laser designator?
