    38 Special Federal Wadcutters for $54.95

    This got to be a typo. $54.95 for 38 Special Federal Wadcutters?

    I wish it was. More arrived today and they now cost me about $12 more a box than I used to retail them for. Crazy eh.

    Wow! Two boxes of ammo and you can buy a Lee melting pot and start casting. My 38 Special cost me $0.06 ea. That’s only $3/box. If I upgrade to Federal primers it’s $5/box.

    Look at the cost of Federal premium hollow point.

    right next to the wadcutters.

    $30 for 20 rounds.

    That's like $75 for 50.

    There are cheaper rounds though.

    .38 is just not as popular as it used to be.

    Well, maybe the various commercial reloaders will give up on 9mm (where they can't compete pricewise with factory ammo lately) and start producing more .38

    I was just given 1000 38 bullets, so primer and powder I'm at about 6 cents a round, at 58 years old they will last me and I can tell my wife I'm making $50.00 every time I shoot a box.
