    Omer, comparing Leica and Swarovski

I have a question for you. I am in the market for new binoculars. I would like your opinion on comparing the Leica Geovid R 10x42 to the Swarovski SLC 10X42. I know the Leicas are ranging binos but are also less money. I have tried a set of SLC's a friend has and I find them outstanding. I am not sure what the comparable non-ranging Leica binos are to the SLC's

    Thanks

    The Leica Ultravid HD+.

Everyones eyes are different and personal preferences vary. I've owned both and actually prefer the latest generation SLC's. If you've tried your friends SLC's and found them outstanding then I'd say the eyecups fit your facial features nicely and the eye relief is right which is key.

Optically the SLC's compare favorably with more expensive Noctivid. Both do not use field flatteners. Here is a subjective review of both.

And a objective review in Dutch with numerical graph and chart data.

Test of the new 8 × 42 and 10 × 42 binoculars, Leica Noctivid, Swarovski EL-SV, Swarovski SLC-WB, Zeiss Victory SF and Zeiss Victori HT

Leica's warranty is not transferable and the customer service in the past has been less than stellar which hurts the resale value.

Swarovski warranty is 30 year transferable and the customer service is excellent they have the best resale value.
