The British empire was an incredible achievement. It brought civilisation to the uncivilised.

I went to a gunsmith's shop years ago and he had a Perazzi there for a minor repair. He told me to open the action and look at it and dry fire it etc. He asked how many rounds I thought were thru it. My best guess was maybe 20K. Maybe!
He just smiled and said there's over 500,000 rounds thru that gun. Incredible. The action was still smooth and not sloppy, no wobble in the fore end, and the trigger felt as good as new. Kinda made my old Citori look like a cheap Turkish knock off by comparison.

The way I look at it is, if it makes a 0.5% difference, that's 1 bird lost on 200. That could very well be the difference between gold and silver, or avoiding a shootoff at a national championship.

For me? That extra bird from 200 might move me from the lower third to the upper lower third of the pack
