I would have thought that skeletonized would at least mean slick side...

Although I would take an FDE given the chance.

So they shaved off a half ounce or what?

That's exactly what these are for.. no way this is battlefield friendly... unless one makes a skeletonized AK action

Less chances of an AR having a stoppage with a skeletonized magwell than an AK with a skeletonized reciever.
