As luck would have it. The parts for the cmmg kit can be purchased separtly. So it wouldn’t be a stretch to buy a spare part so you don’t end up with a useless like of parts if it doesn’t work out. Brownells has some parts also.

My BCM LPK trigger intrudes into the space for the safety, so I cannot insert the GI style safety. Is the trigger safety bar something that is typically handfitted, or is the Modern Sporter dimensions a bit off?

Install the trigger then cock the hammer. Safety will slide in. If it doesn’t fit then there’s an issue.

The trigger always has a part that is underneath the safety. Here is a quick video, trigger is installed already.

I'm pretty sure what's what I'm doing. You can see the trigger safety bar in the way of the cylinder path that the safety needs to go through during insertion.

If using a milspec style trigger can you not install the safety first, then the trigger assembly?

Press on the hammer and disconnector (little metal plate above the trigger) and see if the bar moves. I have a BCM Trigger in mine and it all just slid together. Noveske safety but all Milspec parts.
