How accurate is the 20" version for hunting? Anyone run slugs through it?

Kinda curious but has anyone tried running mini shells in their 1887?

Mine has some really rough looking extractors. Every trip to the range I have had issues with where it wouldn’t be able to grab the empty shell out of the chamber so I’m standing there furiously working the lever hoping it comes out. I just shoot Federal Target Load.

Yup. Mine as well. Won't cycle them at all.

Can single shot mini slugs and buck and fire one handed with out crumpling your hand though

Try different brand of shells, sometimes this helps the cycling.

Mine needs to be broken in more, or use shorter shells I guess, ejection issues, every shot. I had been using low recoil buck, I think those particular shells, after being fired, were a bit longer than standard. More food for thought.
IMHO, this is not a gun for hunting, merely for playing around with at the range. Keep it short!
